Nokia Bell Labs’ announcement Monday afternoon that it is moving from its iconic location in Murray Hill to a state-of-the-art, made-to-order facility at the HELIX in New Brunswick is the biggest example yet of Gov. Phil Murphy’s long-stated desire to have the state’s innovation future match its incredible past.

Nokia Bell Labs will move its storied research facility from its sprawling suburban campus in Murray Hill to a gleaming 10-story office and laboratory being built for it as part of the Helix project here, company officials said Monday.

One of the largest redevelopment efforts in the history of Middlesex County is moving forward with its next portion as plans have been unveiled for the HELIX NJ Health + Life Science Exchange development in New Brunswick.

A 42-story, mixed-use building that will include 37 floors of residential featuring approximately 220 units of housing will be part of the HELIX NJ project in New Brunswick, master developer Chris Paladino said.
